Established Aerospace Manufacturer located in Wixom, MI is looking to fill full time positions in our Hone and Lap Department.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate Sunnen hones to hone inside diameters on various precision parts in accordance with work instructions and minimal supervision
• Lap fit spools to sleeves with precise diametrical clearances
• Lap inside diameters of precision parts to achieve required size, roundness, straightness and finish
• Thoroughly clean parts of all honing oil and lapping compound
• Machining of aircraft parts holding tolerances as tight as .0005”
• Perform critical measurements using supplied gauging including Sunnen gages and bore gages
• Maintain proper paperwork associated with planned job

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience
• Mechanical aptitude a plus
• Ability to translate prints along with understanding of GD&T
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Blueprint reading skills
• Shop math skills
• Proficiency in the use of a wide variety of precision measuring tools are required
